When do you decorate your Christmas tree? The year my husband and I started a new tradition. On our anniversary, October 6th, we set up our first black Christmas tree. It was a spooky Halloween tree through October, now we are trying different ways to make it a Thanksgiving tree, then the day after Thanksgiving it will become a Christmas tree !

What is your favorite Christmas song? What makes it your favorite? Scotty McCreery : Christmas in Heaven ; you’ll just have to listen, I promise you’ll understand.

What is your go-to holiday drink? I do love eggnog but I have my limits, I have recently fallen head over heals for hot apple cider and fireball .. you’re welcome.

What is your favorite Christmas present that you have ever received? My 15th birthday I got a guitar and a pig. Pretty hard to beat that one.

What were your Christmas traditions when you were younger? My dad would press his boots into powdered sugar and walk from the chimney to the tree the night of Christmas. I’ll never forget waking up seeing those foot prints. Imagine how cool it was as a child to find out the snow in the North Pole tasted like sugar.

How have your Christmas celebrations changed since becoming an adult? There are no sugar foot prints in my house… growing up isn’t awesome all the time.

How will Christmas be different at your house this year be different this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic? I honestly do not know what Christmas will look like this year. But I know I will be surrounded by love and hope for the years going forward.

What is your favorite Christmas memory? My first Christmas with my nieces was awesome. My sister tried the boot print magic at her house for her daughters and I’ll never forget her setting the boot on the floor and pouring the sugar around the shoe– if you can visualize it, it was wrong. She didn’t do it like Santa that’s for sure.

How do you spend the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day? A lot of naps.

How do you spend New Year’s Eve? Different every year, my husband and I will be smooching at midnight guaranteed!

How will the pandemic impact your celebrations? Party is a party. Whether it’s me and Jonathan or a dozen friends, we will not let joy be dampened.

What do you typically eat on New Year’s Day? A lot of bread from the alcohol intake ending the previous year .. rock on.

Do you have a New Year’s Resolution for 2021? Make every moment count.
