I remember sitting at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville watching CMA Country Christmas several years ago. It was a wonderful Christmas show. This year, I think CMA Country Christmas was even more special.
CMA Country Christmas was hosted by Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins. I thought they were a wonderful choice to host the show. They are such a sweet together and they even had their kids there at the end of the show. It felt like they invited everyone into their living room.
I know that it really wasn’t their house. In fact, the cameraperson turned the camera around at one point to show that the applause was coming from the crew on the set. The set was designed to be like a house and it felt like it could be their living room.
Country stars such as Lady A, Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett and Tim McGraw played Christmas songs throughout the hour-long show. Most artist performed traditional Christmas songs. Dan and Shay performed a new original Christmas song called “Christmas Isn’t Christmas,” which they released this year.
