CMA Fest: Q & A With Kyle Elliott

Where & When are you playing during CMA Music Fest? So far just at hooters : Thursday 12-2 / Friday 11-12 / Saturday 11-12

When did you start singing? I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember, there is video for proof at the age of 3. Since then, my professional career has been since 2012.

Who are your musical influences? I would say a good variety of artists : Chris Young, Lee Brice, Cody Johnson, Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Randy Travis, Brooks & Dunn.

What is your favorite concert you’ve attended? What made it memorable?  I would have to say the Cody Johnson concert in Chattanooga earlier this year. He’s an authentic artist who just goes out there and does what he loves, and that really shines through during his performances. Also, didn’t hurt that I was on the front row.

What is your favorite place to perform? What do you like about it?  Might be a cliche answer but the Bluebird is a great spot to play. Because no matter who is performing, people love to come just to hear new artists and its a all around great experience for the artist and the listener.

Other than artists, who has been influential in your decision to become a singer? I’d say most of that inspiration would come from my mother, who not only was a music director for the church and local school I went to but was always supportive of my music endeavors.

What was the first song you ever wrote?  Well I’m sure if I dig far enough back in my files I’d find some sad little song with no structure and probably unfinished. However, as a country artist, the first song I ever wrote I actually released (which normally doesn’t happen in this industry) but that was my debut single “Anymore”.

What is your favorite original song? What was the inspiration behind it?  This is a tough question.. I have so many different styles and sounds to my originals its hard to choose from. If I had to, might go with a song called “I Do” a heartbreaking story of being left at the altar and having the world crash at your feet. However, I think this is the most detailed song i’ve written. It’s not a true story from my end but I believe somewhere out there someone has experienced the story this song tells.

Where can people listen to your music before CMA Music Fest?  You can find my music on all streaming services as well as iTunes. Here is a link to my spotify page : https://open.spotify.com/artist/7wkCfVFJPt8YZprRxjSvPs?si=rlv-rEOmRHyRRj3NID5gQA
