Holiday Q&A With Molly Lovette

What is your current single and/or album? Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.

Do you prefer artificial Christmas trees or real trees? Real trees! They are much more work, but going to pick out the tree with family and smelling it in the house all season long makes me so happy!

When do you decorate your Christmas tree? The week after Thanksgiving.

What is your favorite Christmas song? What makes it your favorite? “Silent Night” by Stevie Nicks. It is such a beautiful song and the way she portrays it, the emotion in her voice, is very moving.

What is your go-to holiday drink? Hot chocolate with marshmallows.

What is your favorite Christmas present that you have ever received? A bedazzled microphone stand and microphone.

What were your Christmas traditions when you were younger? Watching Rudolph on tv with my family, My grandpa and mom read “The Night Before Christmas,” Checking the “Santa Tracker” online every Christmas Eve, Coming downstairs on Christmas morning to the song “Here Comes Santa Claus”.

How have your Christmas celebrations changed since becoming an adult? Luckily I have been able to be home with my parents and siblings every year for Christmas, and even though we are older now, we continue to carry on these Christmas traditions.

How will Christmas be different at your house this year be different this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic? I always celebrate with my whole family, and we have a big family – opening presents is literally a four hour affair! Unfortunately, this year we will not be able to celebrate in person together. We’re hoping that the weather won’t be too bad ad we can at least get together on someone’s driveway for a little while on Christmas!

What is your favorite Christmas memory? Every year my grandpa reads “The Night Before Christmas” to us cousins and we end up in tears of laughter making it take forever to finish the book.

How do you spend the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day? With my family and friends! I’m only in town for a small time around Christmas so I soak it up with the people I love.

How do you spend New Year’s Eve? My friends usually have a party, and then my family facetious at midnight so we can be “together” too.

How will the pandemic impact your celebrations? This year, I will either be with just my family or a small group of friends at someone’s house to ensure we’re all safe.

What do you typically eat on New Year’s Day? We usually eat a lot on New Years Eve, so tons of leftovers on New Year’s Day.
