What was a typical Thanksgiving meal look like for your family? Typical southern staples. Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, green beans, and rolls.

What were your Thanksgiving traditions when you were younger? My grandmother always makes a huge spread and everyone gathered there. In the last couple of years, since we moved to Nashville, my Mom prepares the meal using the same family recipes.

What are you most thankful for this year? I’m most thankful for the health of my friends and family. I’m thankful that I get to do what I love for a living.

Do you prefer artificial Christmas trees or real trees? Real, but I actually have an artificial one now as it’s easier with how busy I am.

When do you decorate your Christmas tree? Usually day after Thanksgiving.

What is your favorite Christmas song? What makes it your favorite? Christmas Cookies by George Strait. It’s actually the only one I like.

What is your go-to holiday drink? An insane Candy Cane (Rumplemintz and Red Bull).

What is your favorite Christmas present that you have ever received? There’s so many that stand out. If I had to narrow down, I’d say Aerosmith Concert tickets when I was 14.

What were your Christmas traditions when you were younger? Going to my Grandmother’s for a Christmas Party on Christmas Eve and going to Church Street to see the lights.

How have your Christmas celebrations changed since becoming an adult? Now, my whole family meets up at a cabin North Carolina and spend a few days together. We enjoy a skiing.

How will Christmas be different at your house this year be different this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic? We will still meet in Carolina but it will be a small group vs. extended family. We won’t visit as many public places as my grandparents will be with us and we want to keep them safe.

What is your favorite Christmas memory? Being able to spend time with family that I don’t get to see much.

How do you spend the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day? The first few days we are usually still in North Carolina, but I always return a couple of days early to prepare for performing downtown Nashville on NYE.

How do you spend New Year’s Eve? Typically I am performing in downtown Nashville.

How will the pandemic impact your celebrations? The pandemic has affected my work in a major way. I will still potentially perform; however, it will be to a much smaller crowd than normal. The crowd will also not be able to stand near the stage and/or dance which affects the energy, but I’m still grateful that I get to perform at all.

What do you typically eat on New Year’s Day? Collard greens and rice. It’s a tradition in my family that collard greens represent wealth and rice represents friendships for the coming year.

Do you have a New Year’s Resolution for 2021? Same resolution I have every year, to be a better man spiritually, mentally, and physically then I was the year before.
