Texas singer Lacy Wolfe, who recently released “When They Lay Me Down,” will be donating all of her earnings from her upcoming shows to benefit a friend who needs a expensive medical procedure. The first of these shows will be held at the Flying Cow Burger and Wing Company in Pittsburg, Texas on Saturday, October 12, when she plays a show with Blake Sullivan.

Wolfe’s friend is Kristen Day who was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis in 2018. There is currently no cure for Multiple Sclerosis. While some people live with MS, Day’s form of MS is one of the most aggressive. She has had Ocrevus infusions, but she said on her GoFundMe campaign that her mobility is rapidly declining. She has found a facility in Puebla, Mexico willing to treat patients with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. The treatment includes a stem-cell transplant and several high doses of chemotherapy over 28 days. There is an 80 percent chance of her getting 90 percent better with the treatment, but it is not cheap. Her Go Fund Me account has a goal of $80,000.

Wolfe feels so strongly that this procedure could save Day’s life that she is donating the money she makes from her shows to help her reach her goal sooner. “My husband and I, both have musical backgrounds,” Wolfe said. “He has supported me through every bit of this journey, and I am so thankful for him. We have made so many sacrifices, and we have put in a ton of hard work. Kristen means a lot to me, and if we could save her life, it would make every bit of hard work and every sacrifice worth it. To be able to help a mother, a friend, and spouse, restore what has been broken, I can’t even begin to tell you the emotions that brings!”
