Live Music Spotlight: 9Eight Central

I like 9Eight Central for the same reason I like Brooks and Dunn: their voices blend nicely. I had watched them play before and I knew they were awesome, so I wanted to see them play again.

I went to see Allie Collen play at The Barrel last night. Dustin Herring opened the show and 9Eight Central closed out the night. I appreciate the fact that they showed up for the show really early and watched the other two performers on the lineup. I love to see artists respect and support each other.

9Eight Central is made up of Nicholas Winters and Mike Pettigrew. They play classic country, modern country and southern rock. Winters and Pettigrew pick some really great songs that people love to hear. They prove that it doesn’t take a full band to be engaging and entertaining.

I am very impressed with The Barrel as a venue in the area. They support local music and host a lot of events. The staff of the venue is the key. They are extremely friendly, attentive and hard-working. The Barrel has some great food as well.
