Maddie and Tae’s new single hits radio ahead of schedule

Although it is already getting a lot of airplay, “Die From A Broken Heart” was released today. The official add date for radio stations had been May 5.

According to Billboard, the song has already had 23 million streams. The song, which was written by Maddie Marlow, Taylor Dye, Jonathan Singleton and Deric Ruttan, has received a lot of praise from both fans and critics.

I think “Die From A Broken Heart” is a fantastic song. It is so well written as a conversation with a mother that the repeating lines asking a mother how to get a red wine stain out of a dress are heartbreaking. It shows the speaker is hurting and she is self-medicating to help her get over the loss of someone who she really loved. We know from the song lyrics that he left her and broke the storm door on his way out. This gives us (and her) little hope for a reconciliation.

The song will be included on Maddie and Tae’s debut album, which is set to be released on April 26. Already, Maddie and Tae are only the third female duo in 70 years to top the Country Airplay charts.

Maddie and Tae will be on tour with Carrie Underwood this summer as the open shows on the Cry Pretty 360 tour. They tour opens on May 1 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
