Q & A With Brett Brock

Legends Bar and Grill in Hamilton, Ohio was destroyed by a fire last August. It should re-open in another month. The Marathon Music Showcase/ Fundraiser for Legends Bar and Grill will be held on Sept. 15 at Froggy’s in Monroe, Ohio. The benefit will help will help Legends Bar and Grill restock so they can re-open. Brett Brock will be one of nearly 30 musical acts to perform.

When did you start singing? When I was 6 years old and first heard Elvis Presley.

How would you describe your music? Americana Blues Based Rockabilly Country…

Who are your musical influences? Elvis, Carl Perkins, Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Chuck Berry Early country & blues.

What is your favorite concert you have attended? Buddy Guy & BB King.

What made it memorable? Legends being Legends.

What is your favorite place to perform? What do you like about it?WEBN Fireworks…the big crowds and atmosphere.. great adrenaline rush!

Other than artists, who has been influential in your decision to become a singer? My best friend Luke Faulkner.

What was the first song you wrote? “Tryin to get the feeling” when I was 14

What is your favorite original song? What was the inspiration behind it? “Son of a Gun” about my father.

Anything else you would like to add? These days I like to keep it simple and down to earth. People who influence me lately are old school singer songwriters who mean what the hell they sing and work their ass off putting it out there…
