What is your current single and/or album? “Familiar Stranger”

What was a typical Thanksgiving meal look like for your family? A typical Thanksgiving dinner in my family is very traditional. We have turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, rolls, pumpkin pie and apple pie. We also make a lot of appetizers including a chip dip that is specific to our family called Runge Dip. Runge is my grandmother’s maiden name and her dad found the recipe on a chip bag back in the 50’s or 60’s. It’s made of cream cheese, ketchup, onion and Worcestershire Sauce. It’s not a family gathering without Runge Dip on the table.

What were your Thanksgiving traditions when you were younger? A family tradition of mine when I was younger was getting together with all the Aunts, Uncles and cousins. I have a large extended family and we love getting together. Many years all 9 cousins would have a big sleepover on the living room floor after the dinner was eaten and cleaned up.

How has your Thanksgiving celebration changed since you have became an adult? Our family seems to be in those transition years where a lot of my cousins are going off to college and dating so we don’t always have everyone at the Thanksgiving celebration and we haven’t done a sleepover in a few years.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving Day memory? I don’t have just one favorite. I love spending time with my family so they are all my favorite.

What are you most thankful for this year? I am thankful for all the people in my life who love and support me; my family, friends at school and all the amazing people who support my dreams including my producer David Norris, publicist Nicole Zeller at Brickshore Media, vocal coach Kelly Porretta and my guitar teacher Jordan Bumgarner.

Do you prefer artificial Christmas trees or real trees? I prefer artificial ones because they are less messy. I also like them more because they are more customizable and reusable! My tree is very pretty because it is made to look like it has freshly fallen snow on its branches.

When do you decorate your Christmas tree? I love to decorate for Christmas in early November, but the rest of my family usually waits until after Thanksgiving.

What is your favorite Christmas song?  What makes it your favorite? I really love Kelly Clarkson’s “Underneath The Tree.” I have always been a fan of Kelly Clarkson and her voice on this song just fills me with Christmas sprit. I usually have that one on repeat during the holiday season.

What is your go-to holiday drink? Hot cocoa! My family makes big thermos of hot cocoa almost weekly. It’s part of every Christmas activity.

What is your favorite Christmas present that you have ever received? I always appreciate every gift I receive, but I got tickets to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour last year and that was a highlight gift for me. I have been a fan of Taylor Swift for so long. She is definitely someone I look up to and aspire to be like. Going to her concert was a surreal experience!

What were your Christmas traditions when you were younger? Each year our Elf on the Shelf, Dydia, brought incentive gifts just after Thanksgiving, usually matching Christmas pj’s and a small stuffed toy to remind us to keep being good. We of course would get our picture taken with Santa and go to “The Journey of Joy,” live nativity at church. We would also drive around with hot cocoa and look at Christmas lights. We live close to the Larson House. They won the Christmas Light Fight one of the first years and they continue to put on a pretty amazing light show every year. We still do some version of all those traditions and I look forward to continuing them with my kids someday.

What is your favorite Christmas memory? One year we had extended family living with us during the holidays and it was so much fun waking up on Christmas morning with aunts, uncles and cousins. The house was so full and warm, definitely my favorite!

How do you spend the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day? My family loves to travel so we usually take a trip somewhere warm between Christmas and New Year’s Day. This year we are headed to Miami!

How do you spend New Year’s Eve? If we are not traveling, we spend New Year’s Eve with family and friends. My parents cook a steak dinner and we play games and watch movies and countdown to midnight!

What do you typically eat on New Year’s Day? For some weird reason, the first thing I eat is pickles because they are delicious.

Do you have a New Year’s Resolution for 2025? This year my resolution is to stop and smell the roses more. I’m always on the go and I do a lot of fun and cool things but I don’t always appreciate them in the moment. I want to slow down and enjoy each moment in 2025.
