What is your current single and/or album? “Broke Bridesmaid”.

What was a typical Thanksgiving meal look like for your family? Our family typically has all of the Thanksgiving classics! We have a big turkey, ham, our Pawpaw’s famous dressing, sweet potato casserole, green beans, mac n cheese, 5 different pies, dinner rolls, giblet gravy, cranberry dressing, deviled eggs, sausage balls, and lots of appetizers!

What were your Thanksgiving traditions when you were younger? We get together with many of our family members over Thanksgiving and have a whole day planned! We would start the morning hanging out with Dad while he dressed the turkey and watching the Macy’s Day Thanksgiving Parade. My Pawpaw would also teach me how to make his famous dressing. Then, we would play golf with our cousins through the early afternoon until it was time to eat! Once we finished eating, the rest of the day would consume of watching football, making hot chocolate and strolling through our downtown area looking at Christmas lights, and coming home to play “spoons” and card games with the family!

How has your Thanksgiving celebration changed since you have became an adult? Our Thanksgiving has changed slightly since growing up! I am now in charge of making our late Pawpaw’s famous dressing! I have never had dressing as good as the ones he used to make, and love busting out the recipe every year to keep the tradition going in our family. πŸ™‚ My sisters are also in charge of a few other dishes as well! We still play golf, eat, watch football, and play games – but now we start the day with bloody mary’s and end it with red wine, haha!

What is your favorite Thanksgiving Day memory? My all-time favorite Thanksgiving memory was when we would go to my Memaw and Pawpaw’s house out in the Tennessee backwoods. We always called it the “outback,” haha! I miss making dressing with Pawpaw and listening to him pick on the guitar. He loved Bob Dylan, The Eagles, and Chris Christopherson so much and would sing their classics! We would also ride the four-wheeler around and feed to horses and deer in the backyard. Those were such great times.

What are you most thankful for this year? I am very thankful for my family, my husband, my health, close friends, my fantastic team, and everyone who supports my sister and me in our music! I am so lucky and thankful to get to play and write music full time!

Do you prefer artificial Christmas trees or real trees? Oh, a real tree – no doubt!

When do you decorate your Christmas tree? I used to have a strict rule of decorating RIGHT after Thanksgiving. HOWEVER, I ended up putting up the tree the weekend after Halloween this year. I guess I was itching for the Christmas spirit, haha!

What is your favorite Christmas song? Β What makes it your favorite? I really love “Run Run Rudolph”! That song never fails to get me in the Christmas spirit and gets everyone dancing at holiday parties!!

What is your go-to holiday drink? I dabble in some mixology, so I have a list of fun, festive cocktails I create yearly! However, I would have to say my go-to holiday drink would be my mistletoe martini!

What is your favorite Christmas present that you have ever received? The first Christmas present that came to mind that blew me away as a kid was when Santa brought me a 4-foot-tall stuffed horse from F.A.O. Swchartz! Just like most little girls, I always wanted a pony, so that was just awesome to me! I LOVED that big stuffed horse so much, haha!

What were your Christmas traditions when you were younger? When we were younger, our parents would cook an incredible dinner, and we would later put out reindeer food, make cookies for Santa, open ONE Christmas gift under the tree, and go to bed early so Santa could come! Of course, we would always wake up at 2 or 3 am to rush downstairs and see if Santa came, which he always did! We would jump on our parents’ bed to get them to come to see, and looking back now, I realize they were truly awesome parents because I know there was no way they had a lick of sleep on Christmas Eve night, haha! We would then cook breakfast together as a family, eat sausage balls, watch Christmas movies, and open presents slowly throughout the day while never taking off our Christmas pjs! We would then eat a giant turkey for Christmas dinner. Such great times!

How have your Christmas celebrations changed since becoming an adult? Yes, they have! Now that we are all married adults, our family has grown greatly! So, instead of giving each other a gift, we all bring one perfect gift and play dirty Santa together on Christmas morning! Instead of focusing on presents, we all love spending the day laughing, playing games, making cocktails, cooking, and spending time with one another. πŸ™‚

What is your favorite Christmas memory? Christmas 2023 has to be one of my new favorite memories! My husband, Peyton, grew up in a town only 20 minutes from me, so sharing the holidays between our families is so easy and fun! We spent Christmas Eve with his family, where we ate a Thanksgiving-style spread of food, watched his little cousins open their presents, and attended the candlelight service at their church. Then, on Christmas morning, my family and I dressed up like we were straight out of a Christmas movie and spent the entire day making cocktails, cooking, and playing games! It is a bit of a new tradition now that we are all older and live apart from each other, so I hope we continue to keep it like this as long as we can. πŸ™‚

How do you spend the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day? It usually depends on what is going on for New Year’s Day! Sometimes, we are booked to play shows on NYE out of town and typically need to travel for that shortly after Christmas. Other times, we will stay an extra week to catch up and spend more time with family before another busy year ahead!

How do you spend New Year’s Eve? Sometimes we are performing on NYE, and other times we take the day off to catch up with our friends and family back home! I think this year we plan on coming back to Nashville a little early so that we can see the fireworks downtown!

What do you typically eat on New Year’s Day? We are from the South, so you know we have our traditions! We always eat collard greens, black-eyed peas, pork, lentils, and cornbread on New Year’s Day!

Do you have a New Year’s Resolution for 2025? My New Year’s Resolution for 2025 is to prioritize more time for friends and family, take more chances on opportunities that arise, and to learn how to start growing my own vegetables, making my own bread, and cooking more!
