Troy Brooks and Kassie Jordan, known professionally Blue Honey, are a husband and wife duo from Nashville, Tennessee.
Blue Honey did a meet and greet at last year’s CMA Music Fest, but this will be their first year to perform. They will perform on the Spotlight Stage at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 7. They will perform a 15-minute set and then do a meet and greet following their performance.
Jordan said one thing they learned from last year’s meet and greet is to be more prepared with more CDs. She said that about third of the people they met knew who they were, so it definitely helped they grow their fan base.
Blue Honey will be one of hundreds of artists who will be performing on 11 stages during this year’s CMA Music Fest. Jordan said it feels really good to be invited to perform, calling it “a big milestone.”
They released a single called “Can You See Me?” last year and an album in January. The album has a song called “Those Are The Days” on the album, which Troy describes as acoustic guitar-driven song which focuses on a soldier being away from family. He said one thing that makes the song special is the intimacy of production of the song.
Troy said the new album is “without a doubt” their best music.
In addition to releasing new music, Troy and Kassie’s family also grew this year. Kassie gave birth to twin boys Gus and Cullen about three months ago. She said she toured as long as she could while she was pregnant. She said she stopped touring about two weeks before giving birth and took some time off afterwards as well. Following CMA Music Fest, they will be doing shows on the east coast including shows in the Carolinas.
