CMA Fest: Carrie Underwood Fan Club Party

During CMA Music Fest, some artists have fan club parties. These parties usually offer a performance (usually acoustic). Some of them also include a meet and greet with the artist.

Many artists do fan club parties early in their careers. When artists become bigger stars, some stop doing fan club parties. I don’t hold it against them. It has to be difficult with more demanding schedules and it has to be hard to accommodate so many fans. Carrie Underwood is one of the biggest stars who still does a fan club party every during CMA Music Fest.

Underwood’s fan club party was held at the Grand Ole Opry House. It is a great venue for a fan club party. I wish more artists held their fan club parties there.

At the beginning of the party, fan club members were shown a clip of the “Southbound” music video. It looks like it is going to be another great one.

Underwood took the stage with a full band and performed several songs from her “Cry Pretty” album. I appreciate that she treats her fans to live performances of the new songs, especially the ones she doesn’t usually perform in concert.

There was a raffle of some great prizes including an autographed vinyl, an autographed setlist, tickets to the CMT Awards and tickets to the Underwood concert of their choice with meet and greet.

Following the raffle, there was a Carrie-oke contest. Fans were invited to send a video of them singing one of Underwood’s songs for a chance to sing on stage. First, two girls competed by singing part of “Good Girl” and two men competed by singing “Church Bells” before the two winners competed against each other.

Underwood doesn’t do a meet and greet, but I think the party makes up for it. Fans were given a gift bag on the way out of the party.
