Faith Schueler Finds Ways To Encourage Through Music

Faith Schueler released a new single called “Rainy Day Lover” on March 5. In less than a week, the official lyric video for the song has had over 2.000 views on YouTube. The song has been played over 2,000 times on Spotify.

“Rainy Day Lover” was written by Schueler, Marcus Hummon and Greg Bieck. She said she has been fortunate to work with some great writers. She said Hummon has helped her discover who she is as an artist. She said that her co-writers have become friends and she is thankful for everything that they have done for her.

Her previous single was called “March On Girl” and it was a song that touched many people. As a co-writer on the song, Schueler wanted to write an encouraging lyric, but she said she had no idea how much the song would mean to people who heard it. “I definitely did intend for it to be very versatile. I wanted to be able to reach out to anyone, not just women. I think it is an important message for everyone,” she said, adding that she believes everyone can apply the song to their own life.

Schueler said her fans mean the absolute world to her and some of the responses from “March On Girl” have been enough send chills down her spice. She said some of the women who have reached out to her have shared that the song helped them through depression and cancer. “All of these women who are going through the absolute unimaginable worst thing that seems like to me. I could never imagine being in their shoes. They are going through some very hard times and they have approached me and said that my words and my lyrics have helped them,” she said. “That right there is more than any award, any nomination, anything anyone could ever give me because I know that have helped someone else overcome something that they are going through by sharing my truth and by sharing my lyrics and my words.”

Schueler said she has always had a passion for music since she was a little girl. She said she was also surrounded by music and she was also a dancer when she was young. Schueler said she decided to start pursuing a music career when she was around 11 and began writing songs around age 13. “I honestly could not stop singing,” she said, adding that she would watch countless hours of music videos. “I really knew I loved music and wanted to be a singer because I was watching other people do it,” she said. One artist who has had an influence on Schueler is Darius Rucker, who is also from Charleston.

Singing in church was one way that she was able to get very comfortable singing before an audience, although she said dancing helped with that as well. Schueler said she enjoyed leading a full church service in worship and God played a huge role in her life. “I give all of the glory to Him. Faith has just been a really big part of who I am, no pun intended, she said. She also said that growing up in church and singing definitely helped her as a musician and in her faith.

Schueler described her experience singing in church as life-changing. “I mean I think it just makes my passion for music that much stronger because I have felt what it feels like to be up on a big stage in front of a congregation that’s just worshipping. I think that right there influenced me more than anything just because it made me feel like I was doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing,” she said.

Schueler is mindful of her actions. She said she doesn’t like to put on any front and she stays true to her character. “I am very proud of my character. I have worked very hard on my morals and who I am today as a woman in general,” she said.
