Megan Knight’s new single “My Drama” is one of the new songs that she has plans to release in 2022. This one has been played over 15,000 times on Spotify.
Knight said she found some lines in her iPhone and that sparked the idea for the song. “In relationships, I feel if you truly believe everyone had a good side and dark side,” she said. In a nutshell, that statement sums up “Mr. Drama” pretty well. She also said that people are constantly growing and evolving.
It’s not going to be the last time that Knight explores the idea of people have a good side and a darker side. She said her next single will be like a second part to “My Drama,” adding that it was written from a darker perspective.
Knight said her new EP will probably be released by the end of the summer. “I love writing and storytelling so I think an EP is a great way of doing that,” she said.
Some people might remember Knight when she auditioned for American Idol in 2020. Her audition was unique because was not done in a room where hopefuls typically face the show’s judges. Knight sang for Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie standing in the open air while standing on a boat. The audition ended with all three judges voting to give Knight a golden ticket to advance to the Hollywood round. Knight said the experience taught her to be ready for everything. “I made great friends on that show,” she said.
Knight’s music has also been heard on television in the series Raising Wives on CMT.
