Legends Bar and Grill in Hamilton, Ohio was destroyed by a fire last August. It should re-open in another month. The Marathon Music Showcase/ Fundraiser for Legends Bar and Grill will be held on Sept. 15 at Froggy’s in Monroe, Ohio. The benefit will help will help Legends Bar and Grill restock so they can re-open. The Magnums will be one of nearly 30 musical acts to perform. Cecil Delloma of The Magnums answered the following questions.
When did you start singing? We all started young. Pretty much all of us with KISS.
How would you describe your music? We cover music of the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and AM Gold.
What is your favorite concert you have attended? Wow! This is a tough one. We’ve all seen many shows and many have been favorites. Also, we’re not done, so who really knows!?
What is your favorite place to perform? What do you like about it? Any place that has an enthusiastic group of music loving people are the places we love to play. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Casino, a Festival, a corporate event or a bar gig, when there are live music fans there supporting what you do, it’s awesome every single time.
Other than artists, who has been influential in your decision to become a singer? Again, between the four of us, we’re all over the place. Kiss, Hendrix, Zeppelin, The Who, Elvis…. the list goes on and on.
What was the first song you wrote? Each of us have written a number of songs spanning many decades. I think Chris has the record for his first being at about 7 years old. We are currently writing and recording songs for a future original Magnums release, date yet to be determined but coming soon.
What is your favorite original song? What was the inspiration behind it? We’re still making the donuts so to speak. Inspiration for us is everywhere.
