Robert Bacon Releases New Christmas EP

Robert Bacon released a six-song Christmas EP called “What Christmas Means To Me” on Nov. 27.  He was a co-writer on every song.  The title track was released as a single.   Bacon said the full record would be released next year and it may have 13 songs on it.

Bacon calls “Here’s To Christmastime,” which is the single he’s been promoting this year, as a very fast-paced song that was written when they were thinking about the things that go on at Christmas that are special.

Unlike many Christmas EPs and albums, Bacon’s EP has all original songs on it.  That’s because he prefers to do songs he’s co-written.  “Some songs you can’t compete with because they have been out forever,” she said.

Bacon has a non-Christmas album coming out next year, hopefully by the end of the year.   He says his big thing is Christmas, adding that he’s writing with some really good people who are connected to Hallmark.  All the songs he does get pitched to Hallmark, which is known for their Christmas movies every year.

That means writing Christmas music doesn’t end when Christmas is over.   He says he writes Christmas music all year long.  “In Nashville, we call it Christmas in July or Christmas in June even,” he said.  According to Bacon, the music has to be ready to hit all streaming platforms by Black Friday.

People can find out more about Bacon and his music at his website, www.robertbacon.com.   He can be found on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X (formerly Twitter), as well as his own app.   His app can be downloaded on the Apple Store or the Google Play Store.  He thinks all students need their own app, but he said it’s a long process because it takes time to get approval.
