Chrissy Metz, who is probably best known for her role as Kate Pearson on NBC’s This Is Us, will appear on Sunday’s Academy of Country Music Awards. Metz is also the star of the upcoming movie Breakthrough, which will be released by 20th Century Fox.
The performance on the ACM Awards will be her live television performance debut. She will be joined by Lauren Alaina, Mickey Guyton, Maddie & Tae and Carrie Underwood for what is being called a “must-see collaboration.”
The artists will be performing a special rendition of the song “I’m Standing With You,” while spotlighting ACM Lifting Lives®, the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music. ACM Lifting Lives is dedicated to improving lives through the power of music. The Breakthrough soundtrack features a version of the song by Metz. The soundtrack also includes Underwood’s hit “Love Wins,” as well as songs by Mickey Guyton, Lauren Alaina, Darius Rucker and Maddie & Tae, among others.
The ACM Awards will be broadcast live on CBS at 8 p.m. Eastern/ 7 p.m. Central on Sunday.
