Americanafest is an annual event organized by the Americana Music Association and held in Nashville, Tennessee. Americanafest 2019 will be held between Sept. 10 and Sept. 15 with the Americana Honors and Awards Show taking place at the Ryman Auditorium on Sept. 11. The five-day event will feature panels and performances at several venues in Nashville. EG Vines will be performing on Saturday, September 14 at noon at the Baby Robot “First Annual King House Hootenanny & Chili Cookoff” during this year’s Americanafest.
When did you start singing? When I was 15. I wanted so badly to be a guitar player in my friend’s rock band, but their singer flaked out, so I went for it.
How would you describe your music? An ever moving target.
Who are your musical influences? That’s a tough one, but I always go back to Radiohead, Otis Redding, Chris Cornell, Led Zeppelin, Jason Isbell, Neil Young and 2Pac.
What is your favorite concert you have attended? Foo Fighters at The Ryman, 2014
What made it memorable? It was Halloween, Dave and company always throw one hell of a party and all of Nashville tried to get in and a lucky 2,000 of us got tickets.
What is your favorite place to perform? What do you like about it? The Basement in Nashville. It was the first room I played when I moved to town back in 2010, the crowd is always there to listen and it just has that special thing about it.
What was the first song you wrote? Something terrible 😉
What is your favorite original song? What was the inspiration behind it? I think they change from time to time, but right now it’s probably ‘The Hate Remains’ or ‘Poor Man, Rich Man’ from the upcoming LP.
