‘A Nashville Christmas Carol’ Brings Holiday Cheer

I have loved Charles Dickens’ story A Christmas Carol for years. I love country music and I love Nashville. When I learned that A Nashville Christmas Carol would be premiering on The Hallmark Network on Nov. 21, I was excited. There were a few country stars who would be a part of the cast including Wynonna, Kix Brooks, Sara Evans and Raelynn. The cast also included Kimberly Williams-Paisley.

The plot of A Nashville Christmas Carol centers on an overworked producer name Vivian, who is visited by her deceased mentor Marilyn Jinway, played by Wynonna. Jinway visits her to keep her from making the same mistakes that she had made. Of course, she doesn’t come alone. She is joined by the Ghost of Christmas Past, played by Kix Brooks and the Ghost of Christmas Present, played by Kimberly Williams-Paisley.

Sara Evans and Raelynn play two country music singers who perform in the Christmas production. It lends nicely for some awesome musical performances of some Christmas songs. Now that I have heard Evans and RaeLynn sing together, I would love to hear them record a duet or even tour together.

While Nashville and the country stars will likely will be the reason many people watch this movie, there are some great performances. The main character is played by Jessy Schram. Sarah Borne and Wes Brown also turn in great performances. I would love to see them act in more movies in the future.

A Nashville Christmas Carol is rated TV-G and is currently streaming until Tuesday, Nov. 24. The next airing on the Hallmark Channel will be on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 10:03 p.m. EST.
